Dutch Sex Hormone Metabolism (R)

Description

DUTCH Sex Hormone Metabolism includes a comprehensive assessment of the sex hormone metabolism to provide insight into the root causes of sex hormone imbalances. This test can be used to gather baseline measurements for the administration and monitoring of hormone replacement therapy. It is a unique method for more accurate vaginal hormone and oral progesterone monitoring. The DUTCH Sex Hormone Metabolite test analyses estrogens, progesterone and testosterone along with their metabolites in order to track and evaluate hormone levels. The DUTCH test is simple and easy to use. Urine samples are taken using filter paper collection strips without the need for a blood draw or 24-hour urine collection.

Note, the cortisol and cortisone metabolites, free cortisol and cortisone daily patterns and organic acids are not included in this panel.

Methodology

Estrogen, progesterone and androgen metabolites for this profile are all tested by GC-MS/MS.

When should I use

DUTCH Sex Hormone Metabolism is especially useful for HRT monitoring and great for baseline measurements where an assessment of the adrenal hormones are not required.
