Description

Stool Chemistries measures faecal elastase, fat, muscle and vegetable fibres to assess efficiency of digestion. Three inflammation markers, calprotectin, lysozyme and lactoferrin along with occult blood, red blood cells, white blood cells and mucus provide important information regarding inflammation, whether caused by pathogens or IBD or to distinguish from IBS. GI humoral immune status is assessed by secretory IgA (sIgA). Short Chain Fatty Acids (SCFAs) are also measured to provide information about the health of the microbiome and GI tract health.
