Description:
This test reflects the current Yersinia enterocolitica activity of chronic and recent Yersinia enterocolitica infections.
Yersinia enterocolitica is a type of bacteria that causes gastrointestinal infections. Complications can occur in up to 30% of patients: Reactive arthritis (40-80% HLA-B27 positive), Erythema nodosum, Morbus Reiter, uveitis, urticaria, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, anorexia
The EliSpot is highly sensitive and can detect even one single Yersinia enterocolitica-reactive T-cell. With detection levels that can be as low as one cell in 100,000, the EliSpot is one of the most sensitive cellular assays available.
Methodology:
Yersinia enterocolitica EliSpot (T-Cell-Spot / IGRA: Interferon-Gamma-Release Assay)
When should I use:
When a recent or chronic case of Yersinia enterocolitica infection is suspected.
